Back of Book: Pumpkins can be baked in a pie, carved into jack-o’-lanterns, and roasted for a healthy snack. But how does a tiny seed turn into a big pumpkin? With clear text and detailed, colorful illustrations, this book explains what a pumpkin seed needs to help it grow! This book also includes delicious pumpkin recipes and easy experiments to do with pumpkin seeds.
My Review: One of the fun things about the fall season is getting to teach my students about pumpkins! This book is a great in depth book that discusses the pumpkin cycle starting from the seeds. Each page discusses how water and sunlight mix to allow the plant to grow and mature. The illustrations are very detailed and allow children to clearly see the small changes in the plant life. The science experiments in the back of this book allow for a great activity to do with a pumpkin unit. I am excited to read this book to my students this year.
