My Review:
Once in a while you find an author that reaches a special place in your heart. I got that feeling when I was eight years old. My grandma read me the Hobbit and I was changed forever. When I heard that Caroline McAlister had written a picture book that introduces readers to the man behind magic I was thrilled. This is among the best nonfiction picture books I have seen this year. The story follows John Ronald’s from a young boy, into adulthood. I loved the detail that was placed in this book. The illustrations in this book are truly gorgeous and bring true depth to the storyline. I think every teacher, and librarian should add this to their list of must haves.
