Back of Book:
Anya wakes up to discover that she has grown a tiger tail. Yes, a striped tiger tail. It also happens to be the first day of school. What will the other kids think? Are girls with tiger tails even allowed to go to school?!
My Review:
I have yet to meet a child who is not a bit nervous on the first day of school. This is a great book to show children that everyone is unique. Anya wakes up with a tiger tale and is horrified that she has to attend the first day of school even with a tale. She tries everything to get the tail off her body. She also tries to cover herself with all her clothes so she can hide the tail. Still, nothing works. Anya finally gets to school and realizes that everyone at school has something unique about them. I loved the last page of the story because it shows a diverse group of students. This is a great story for the first day or week of school.
