Back of Book: With gorgeous photo illustrations, award-winning author April Pulley Sayre explores the transformation trees undergo in fall. The book takes readers through the leaves’ initial change from green to red, yellow, and orange, the shedding of the leaves, and the leaves crumbling as winter approaches. Extensive back matter explains the science behind this process to the youngest of budding scientists.
My Review:
It is so important for children to read nonfiction books that explain the fall weather. Full of Fall has absolutely gorgeous pictures and simple text that combine for a truly fantastic fall read aloud. The text is elegant and lyrical. The book shows the spender of the seasons changing and becoming something new and different. Each page shows a different scene of the fall season. The photos show scenes of animals, berries, and of course the color change of the leaves. I love that the text is perfect for beginning or experienced readers. The back of the book has an explanation of the science behind each photo. I look forward to sharing this book with my class this year.
