My Review: This is the perfect diverse Thanksgiving read aloud. It focuses on one young boys adventures as he falls in love with the turkey that is supposed to be his meal. The story focuses on the importance of family during the holidays. Miguel lives in a multigenerational household. Every member of his family, pitches in to save the turkey who has become a pet to them all. I love how this book involves not only a family, but an entire community. The illustrations are colorful and show the culture and tradition of Miguel’s neighborhood. The end of the story will make readers smile. I love the glossary in the back of the book that defines what each Spanish word means. Great story to use as a read aloud during the holiday season.
