Back of Book:
If you were a national park ranger, you’d spend every day in one of the most treasured places in America. You’d have an amazing job protecting animals, the environment, and our country’s natural and historical heritage, from the wilds of Denali to the Statue of Liberty!
My Review:
I received a copy of this picture book from author Catherine Stier in exchange for an honest review.
I was so excited to share this book with my class on Earth Day and during National Park Week. It is a terrific look at the many important aspects of a park rangers job. Each page is filled with fun descriptions of what park rangers that do every day. The text focuses on how they protect the animals, the environment, and the history of America. I loved the details that were on every page. I am lucky enough to live near a National Monument and felt like this book accurately describes the job that rangers do. The illustrations are bright, colorful, and show readers glimpses into the different parks across America. The back of the book has a note from the author that gives readers more information about science, art, and other aspects of the park. This is a perfect book to use as a read aloud or a book report. I also plan on adding it to my community helper reading list.
