My Review:
I Will Be Fierce is a wonderful story by debut author Bea Birdsong. It follows a young girl as she journeys through the first day of school. The first person narration allows readers to connect with the young girl’s strength and kindness. I love all the ways that I can use this story for social and emotional learning. It touches on confidence, kindness, social pressure and staying true to oneself. The illustrations by Nadhi Chanani are beautiful and bring the girl into full focus. This book is a great addition to the first week of school.
