My Review:
I received a copy of this picture book from author Pippa Chorley in exchange for an honest review.
I love finding picture books that I can use in a STEM lesson. Debut author Pippa Chorley wrote a fantastic story that will make readers laugh and learn at the same time. When Sam can’t sleep she tries counting sheep. The only problem is the tiniest sheep cannot jump the fence. The sheep come together and try to think of a plan that will help him jump over the fence. The story is rich in vocabulary and focuses on words like ramp and springs as the seep try several solutions to their problem. The rhyming scheme allows readers to stay engaged in the story while also thinking about how the little lamb can get over the fence. The illustrations by Danny Deeptown are filled with bright colors and adorable expressions. I plan on using this story as the beginning of a writing prompt on what other solutions my students can find to help the little lamb over the fence. A fantastic read-aloud to share with readers of all ages.
