My Review:
I received a copy of this picture book from Sterling Book Press in exchange for an honest review.
I cannot believe that Valentine’s Day is on Friday. I love it when I can combine social and emotional learning with holiday books. Mirabel is a shy mouse who is nervous to give out her valentines to her classmates. As she walks to school all her valentines blow out in the wind. Mirabel is crushed until she realizes how many people are touched by her found valentines. I loved Lawlers message that one small act of kindness can go a long way. Readers will easily connect with Mirabel and her shy and quiet nature. and The text is written in a rhyming scheme that makes it a perfect read-aloud. The illustrations by Olvia Chin Mueller are absolutely adorable and whimsical. I loved the bright color’s detailed pages. This is a perfect book to share during Valentine’s Day.
