STEM is such an important aspect to teach in the classroom. My students love dinosaurs and I was so excited to share Here We Go Digging for Dinosaur Bones with them. The text of the story is written to match the lyrics of the song “Here We Go ‘Round the Mulberry Bush.” and creates a rhythm that children can sing along to. The book also has scientific facts on each page that tells readers more about the work that paleontologists do. The illustrations by Bob Kolar are bright and engaging. My students loved following the group of children as they successfully build a dinosaur. The back of the book has more information about dinosaurs as well as the song lyrics. There is also information about the real place that the illustrations were based on. I loved that I could use this book to cover so many different concepts. We discussed careers, dinosaurs, scientists, and music. This was an excellent read-aloud and one that we will be reading again.
