Green on Green By Dianne White & Felicita Sala

Back of Book:
A child is on a colorful journey through the seasons, filled with yellow flowers and blue coral in spring and summer and orange pumpkins and green pine forests in fall and winter. All the while, there is another colorful change on the horizon—the birth of a new sibling.
My Review:
I received a copy of this picture book from Blue Slip Media in exchange for an honest review.
This book beautifully captures the simplicity of a family’s country life as they discover the joy in each new season. The story follows a curious boy as he discovers the unique aspects of each season. The lyrical text is poetic and inspiring. Dianne White skillfully weaved metaphor into each page allowing readers to relate color to each season. The illustrations by Felicita Sala are bright and perfectly capture the seasons. Each detail captures both the text, as well as the change of family dynamics. I love the way she captured the important memories of childhood. A diverse group of people is showcased throughout the illustrations allowing readers to see themselves within the pages. This is a perfect book for any unit on poetry or seasons. A truly stunning story.
