It Is Not Perfect (You Are Not Small) By Anna Kang & Christopher Weyant

Back of Book:

Two fuzzy creatures are happily putting the finishing touches on their sandcastle when each of them thinks of something that would make it even better. As they work furiously to incorporate each new change, their tiny sandcastle becomes an over-the-top palace…but is it really perfect?

This latest book in the beloved series featuring the pals from Theodor Seuss Geisel Award winner You Are (Not) Small reminds us that perfection is in the eye—and heart—of the beholder.

My Review:

I received a copy of this picture book from Blue Slip Media in exchange for an honest review.

I am so excited to be apart of the book tour for this heartwarming story that is out just in time for summer. Readers follow two friends as they work to create the perfect sandcastle. They start to make small changes until the sandcastle grows to be huge. The end of the story has a fun twist that will show readers the importance of enjoying the small things in life. I loved the message of perception that is weaved within the pages. During this time of uncertainty, this is the type of story that shows readers that even if things are not perfect they can still be memorable. The text is written in a speech bubble type format that allows readers to clearly see who is talking. The illustrations are bright and lovable. This is a book that will be loved by old and new fans alike.
