“Waiting Together” by Danielle Dufayet is a terrific picture book that discusses the concepts of patience and waiting. The text is full of examples that show children waiting for different lengths of time. Some waiting goes fast, some go slowly, and sometimes waiting is emotional. The book concludes by sharing with readers that often the waiting period leads to fun and worth it. The illustrations by Srimalie Bassani are bright, playful, and showcase a diverse group of children learning and playing together. This is an excellent book to use to discuss the concepts of mindfulness, friendship, and patience.
