The Night Before Election Day By Natasha Wing Illustrated By Amy Wummer

Back of Book:
Yes! It’s almost here. And the big question is: Who will be our next president? Will our leader be a he or a she? A young citizen gives her take on politics and Election Day in this charming story told in the style of Clement C. Moore’s holiday poem.
My Review:
I received a copy of this picture book from author Natasha Wing in exchange for an honest review.
“The Night Before the Election Day” By Natasha Wing is an upbeat and exciting look at the election process through the eyes of a child. The story follows a young girl as she and her community prepare for the upcoming election. The text discusses the colors and symbols of the two main parties and how each American is given a choice to vote for who they think is best. I love how the entire family in the story is apart of the voting process. As always, Natasha’s rhyming scheme is creative and engaging. The illustrations are bright and showcase a diverse community coming together on election day. “The Night Before Election Day” is a great read-aloud that helps children understand how exciting and important the election can be.
