My Review:
I received a copy of this picture book from Albert Whitman Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
“The Big Beach Cleanup” by Charlotte Offsay showcases the importance of taking care of the earth. Cora has been looking forward to the Crystal Beach Sandcastle competition. Unfortunately, the event gets canceled because the beach is sand is covered in litter. Discouraged, Cora enlists the help of her family to clean up the trash on the beach the problem is, they need more hands to help. Cora enlists the help of her community, and together they finally have enough hands to clean up the beach. The illustrations by Katie Rewse are filled with bright, cheerful images that allow readers to feel like they are at the beach. The back of the book encourages readers to make small changes that will help the planet. “The Big Beach Cleanup” is an inspirational story that shows readers that they can all use their hands to make a difference in the environment.
