I received a copy of this picture book from Harper Collins in exchange for an honest review.
It is Tuesday which means it is an extra perfect time to celebrate this fantastically fun story all about tacos! Its Raining Tacos! by Parry Gripp is an imaginative story that will have readers laughing, and chanting along. The book follows a young boy as he prepares to celebrate his birthday. He and his friends are excited to eat pizza until they realize that the puppy has already eaten them. Determined to have a great birthday, the boy makes a birthday wish and celebrates when his taco wish comes true. The text is written in a first-person narrative and rhyming scheme that engages readers from start to finish. This is also a great introduction for a writing assignment on the different toppings people put on their tacos. The illustrations by Peter Emmerich are colorful and bring the story to life. This is a book that children will want to hear over and over!
