My Review:
I received a copy of this picture book from Albert Whitman Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
Goldilocks And The Three Engineers by Sue Fliess is a wonderful fractured fairytale with a STEM twist. Goldilocks is a clever thinker who enjoys creating and tinkering. When she has inventors block, she takes a walk to get some inspiration. In the meantime three very inventive bears, Papa, Mama, and Baby Bear wander into her house and make improvements to her inventions. I love that the text contains scientific vocabulary like widgets, nuts, bolts, and pliers. I love creating anchor charts and explaining the words to my students. The illustrations by Petros Bouloubasis are bright, and showcase the different inventions with fantastic details. The story has a charming ending and shows readers the fun of working together.
