A Friend Like You By Frank Murphy and Charnaie Gordon is a lovely ode to the different ways that friendships can be tended. Each page focuses on a different trait that is important for friends to have. The stanzas explore concepts such as being a curious friend, being a forgiving friend, being a thoughtful friend, and more. Each bit of advice is reinforced with examples that allow readers to recognize how they can implement the concepts in their own friendships. The illustrations by Kayla Harren are charming and vibrant. The back of the book includes an author’s note about friendship as well as a letter-writing activity. is a must-have for classrooms and home libraries.
