Back of Book:
Adventurous Lil Pup is bummed that hibernating season will soon be coming to the Great North Woods. Why should so many of his friends have to go in for the winter and leave Lil Pup without pals? Mama reminds her little wolf that not all animals hibernate, and how he can be grateful for the beautiful autumn season – for jumping in leaf piles, eating apple treats, and celebrating the wonders of fall with his forest friends.

My Review:
This is a perfect story to read to preschool aged children for the Thanksgiving Season. It follows a little pup who is sad because his friends are all preparing for hibernation. He and mama go for a walk, where she sweetly reminds little wolf all the things he should be thankful for. I love that this book mentions the beauty of the fall season, without mentioning Halloween. Sometimes I feel like children forget about the beauty of fall because they are so impatient for Halloween to arrive. The message about being thankful for the Lords blessings is beautiful and well written. This makes for a great read-aloud with a class, or at home. David Holm did a great job on the illustrations, readers will love following little pups adventure. I highly recommend this book.
