Back of Book:
Oh, no! There’s trouble brewing in the North Pole: Santa’s reindeer have gone on strike and he’s auditioning other animals to take their place. But when the cats abandon station to chase some mice and the elephants fall through the roof, what’s Santa to do? Will his eight trusty reindeer ever fly again?
My Review:
This is an adorable story told in the poem of Twas the night before Christmas. Readers will laugh out at the different issues that each substitute animals brings. The filmier rhyming text is engaging and easy for young readers to follow along with. The illustrations are fun and colorful. Each detail makes the story better. The ending of the book shows a good compromise between Santa and the reindeer. This is a fun book and a perfect read aloud.
